We tried schnitzel here and the place, food and ambience is just perfect. The proportion is also on point. So when going around freiburg on a summer bike ride, this is a perfect spot if you wanna have a German meal.

Located in the old train station - an old building with a bit of character. Nice menu with a good variety of non-fancy (but high quality) standard German fare choices. Located only a few minutes from the Autobahn, this is a good place to stop for an evening meal whilst driving to (or from) Switzerland.

Good food, big portions, nice relaxed atmosphere, quick service on a Saturday evening. Dogs friendly. Drinks expensive. Enchilada de carne in plate Mexicano was made with fish instead of minced beef.

It was a fantastic experience! I highly recommend you to have a stop in this train station caffee and try the delicious food, drinks and service provided by Gleis 1. We were looking for a small drink from our bike trip and we found an absolute gem on the road. Special kudos for the excellent service provided by the young blonde lady. See you shortly!

We were there for a quick stop on our way home. Good and fast service and also the food has been served fairly quick. The quality was ok and the portions were more than enough. Although we sat outside the inside seemed to be nice.

Great place we stumbled upon on our way back to The Netherlands from Italy. By far the best schnitzel we ever had. Add a great authentic atmosphere in a nice mix of old and young people, plus service with a smile. Amazingly nice gem in an old trainstation. Don’t skip this one if you have the chance.
